Waitrose is still ranked top in the most recent Market Force Information survey on the perceptions of customers about seven supermarket chains. The survey involved 4300 customers who rated supermarkets on their assortment, layout and cleanliness.

In the midst of the coronavirus epidemic, Waitrose has added several additional measures to safeguard customers and staff. Customers are required to bring only one person to shop and to wear a scarf or mask. In every shop, there are also hand sanitizers. Waitrose offers the Volunteer's Shop Card for shoppers who are self-isolated that allows family and friends to pick up their orders on their behalf.
