World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to increase the stats of a particular item. Depending on the upgrade type it could raise an item level upgrade's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats increase in value. The value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on the person you hire and what you do. This is due to the fact that many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

Item level is a widely used measurement of power and can be found on all item tooltips. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). The average level of an item can be found on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear players can evaluate the item level. It's an indicator of the item's condition and its quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the item's level.

The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a few theories about how the calculation of an item's level is made. One theory is that the level is a number that comes from a formula which calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is typically close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor that can affect an item's ilvl since the level of the area the item is dropped into can change the value of its stats, such as by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrader." The base stats of a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. An item that is white or grey, for example, will only be upgraded one time however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Another way to change the stats of an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or other special abilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs), or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other options for rerolling.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it's an exclusive item or an item that is a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that can be modified by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to increase. Similar to the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the intensity of the properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous for early game runs, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item, up to 140.

Moreover, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are expensive and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item if it does not work.

When you upgrade an item the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased so much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. All items have a base success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

The upgrade overlays for items are displayed above items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (icicledanger0.bravejournal.net published an article) CORE client config.
