New and Rejuvenating Chicago Community News



The new breed of journalist is driving the effort to rejuvenate local news coverage, and help to mitigate the threat to the democratic process. Our aim is to obtain unprecedented resources to build on proven strategies, while eliminating longstanding inequities in journalistic coverage and practice.




Recent graduates and students presented Austin Harvest, the Austin Harvest produce market at its permanent site this week, bringing artistic and social interaction to an area that was once known for gun violence. WBEZ's Jackie Kostek visited to speak to its founders who describe their goal as not only providing food, but creating more hospitable communities as part of their goal.
