An emerging generation of reporters are driving the effort to rejuvenate local news coverage and mitigate the threat to democracy. Our goal is to find unprecedented resources to strengthen proven solutions, while eliminating longstanding inequities in journalism coverage and practice.




Recent graduates and students recently inaugurated Austin Harvest, the Austin Harvest produce market at the permanent location this week. The market brings artwork and a sense of community in an area that was once known for gun violence. News anchors from WBEZ Jackie Kostek visited to speak to its founders who describe their mission as not just providing food, but rather creating an environment that is more welcoming as one of their goals.
